The Newspaper Committee shall consist of five (5) members. They shall publish a monthly Union-printed newspaper which will promote the welfare of labor as a whole. They will meet once a month and edit articles for publication and distribution in the week prior to the Regular Membership Meeting. The Chairperson of the Committee shall be designated as Editor and her/his name shall be on the newspaper masthead.

The name of the Local Union Newspaper shall be Local 2244 Labor News.

The following columns shall be included in each issue: President, Financial Secretary, Chairperson of the Bargaining Committee, Letters to the Editor. All articles shall be signed.

The newspaper shall not contain personal attacks on fellow Union members, nor shall it be used as an instrument for factional political purposes.

A majority vote by the Committee shall be required to reject an article. Rejected articles shall be returned to the authors with the reasons given therefore. Authors of rejected articles may appeal to the Membership, if they so desire.
