TENTATIVE AGREEMENT REACHED March 15, 2010 2:20 am
Brothers and Sisters,
Your Local Union Bargaining Committee is pleased to announce that we have reached a tentative agreement with NUMMI as of early Monday morning, March 15, 2010.
While some became frustrated with the slow progress, this agreement only became possible as a result of the hard work and Solidarity of those supporting the Union’s campaign to win fair treatment of the NUMMI workers.
We have made several improvements to what the Company repeatedly had termed it’s last offer. Considerable improvements were made in both the economics of the Retention Package and non-economic provisions of the Shutdown Agreement. Throughout this trying ordeal the Leadership has remained determined and motivated through the support and solidarity of the majority of Team Members, and for that we give you our thanks.
We will be distributing copies of the Shutdown Agreement and Retention Package for your review just as soon as it’s possible to have the copies made. We would ask that you review them carefully and discuss the terms of this agreement with your family. Your Leadership will be available to answer your questions both in the plant and at the Union Hall.
We will be holding the Ratification Vote on Wednesday, March 17, 2010. We will also be conducting Informational Meetings throughout the day at which time you will have the opportunity ask questions prior to voting to Accept or Reject the Proposed Agreement. VOTING POLLS March 17, 2010
